One breezy sunny day in the Spring of 2007 four radical people with three radical names came together to discuss matters of great importance. Amidst discussions of party pizza, Guinness, and hip-hop - one common theme kept resurfacing: cats. Often times reffered to as "the sweet babies," other times as "the rats," one sentiment prevailed: pure love and hope for these, the most cunning and curious of creatures.
Those people were S. Finch, Jon B, Keith Greiman, and Keith Shore.
Their destiny: To Save the Cats.
Keith Greiman, Keith Shore, DWRI Letterpress and Tiny Showcase have teamed up to bring you an extra special letterpress print series edition. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the artists and the printmaker, 100% of the proceeds from each and every print sold will be donated to Alley Cat Allies, the national nonprofit clearinghouse for information on feral and stray cats. Alley Cat Allies is dedicated to advocating for nonlethal methods to reduce outdoor cat populations.
Each letterpress print (pictured below) comes packaged with Please Save the Cats stickers (which can be seen on the top of this page).
The letterpress series is an ongoing Tiny Showcase project featuring artwork by our favorite silkscreen artists, poster designers, and multi-layered color separation masters. Each piece from the letterpress collection is an original design that was created for the project and printed in limited quantities. Providence letterpress artist Dan Wood of DWRI Letterpress created and pressed each of the three layers of this print into a 250gsm mould made 100% cotton Velvet Somerset printmaking paper manufactured at St. Cuthberts Mill in Somerset, England.
